How It Works: Human & Animal
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
Most clients experience rapid stress reduction and relief from pain and anxiety. Also, improved sleep and digestion and a greater sense of well-being. Feeling more motivated, less depressed or relief from side effects of medications, radiation or chemotherapy have also been noted results.
When a person is already in good health, it increases vitality and postpones the aging process. The continued use of Reiki treatments when you are not sick will manifest itself as self- confidence and self-assurance.
What is Reiki?
Rei means “spirit,” and Ki means “energy,” so literally, the word Reiki translates as “spiritual energy.” Thus in reality, all things consist of Reiki, since all things are made of energy. This energy travels through us to the beings who need healing. We often feel it more strongly as coming through our hands, but in reality Reiki flows through all our energy centers and pathways (i.e. chakras and meridians), so is moving throughout our whole body. The more you practice with Reiki, the more you will feel the energy flow.
Reiki is also used to describe a Japanese energy healing system used originally for spiritual development and used today for “hands-on” healing. We are called “practitioners” of this system not “healers” since we are not actually manipulating energy for healing; rather we are creating an energetic space to support the self-healing process of the being to whom we are connecting. In reality, each individual is responsible for his or her own healing process, and Reiki is a way to support this.
The system of Reiki is defined as a “practice,” so your intention and commitment to the “doing” of Reiki is important to your development, healing, and understanding of the healing process, as well as your ability to access a deeper energetic space. Doing Reiki can deepen your intuition and cause tremendous internal healing on all levels. It is also holistic: it can be used for physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual healing. As the nature of Reiki supports energetic balance and harmony, it always finds the origin of the problem (since all health problems are “dis-ease” or imbalance) and works for the highest good (rebalancing and clearing the energy “flow”).
Reiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle, noninvasive and doesn't require physical contact. It doesn't cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and yet yields powerful results. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki's power to support the healing of emotional, behavioral, and physical illnesses and injuries.
For animals who are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation and provides an emotional sense of peace and contentment.
For animals who are ill, Reiki is a wonderful healing method as well as a safe complement to Western Medicine, Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, flower essences, and all other forms of healing. For example, Reiki can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, support an acupuncture treatment, and complement the effects of flower essences.
For dying animals, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear, and anxiety, and to ease the transition to death. Reiki is also a wonderful way to support a dying animal's family.

CranioSacral Energy Work/Aroma Therapy
A light and sensitive touch applied at specific points transmits deeply and locates blocks in the cerebral spinal fluid that surround the central nervous system. Then, through the gentle manipulation of bones and membranes, restrictions are eased and all systems flow more freely. This treatment is good for conditions, including migraines, headaches, muscle tension, past physical trauma,TMJ, arthritis, memory loss, ear infections and depression.
Aromatherapy is used in conjunction with this to lift mood, unwinding process, enhance relaxation, and spirit.
What is CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy works with the rhythmic wave-like motion of the cerebrospinal fluid, which can be felt anywhere on the body, and out to the edges of the auric field (This auric field surrounds the body approximately 2-3 feet). The brain and spinal cord float in a sac containing the cerebrospinal fluid, which bathes the nervous system and allows for movement of neurotransmitters. The entire body is connected by nerves and fascia to the spinal cord, which gently moves up and down inside the vertebral column as much as half an inch with each wave of the cerebrospinal fluid.
What are Blocks?
Blocks are areas of holding that limit full expression of your blueprint for balance, health, and wholeness. If left unattended, they will eventually manifest on the physical level as a loss of vitality and function in the area of the blocks, and often in other parts of the body as well. Blocks can be caused in a variety of ways: physical, mental, emotional, chemical, hormonal, etc. What may start out as a block in energetic flow can eventually show up on the physical level as a sticky place in the fascia, the continuous sheet of connective tissue which encases every structure in the body. The cranial rhythm will have a different quality in an area where it is not fully expressed. The CranioSacral Energy Work tunes in to the client's innate cranial rhythm, and can then identify places where the innate rhythm could be more fully expressed, and assist the client in the process of moving into fuller expression of their Cranial rhythm, resulting in greater health and vitality on all levels.
What is Black Pearl Technique
The Black Pearl Sanctuary Technique (the Black Pearl is the Hypothalamus Gland) is a deeply relaxing and quiet modality invoking natural healing processes for neuro-vascular recalibration. This hands-on body method involves holding a series of points on the client’s head while using massage-like techniques connecting to specific meridian energy points allowing the body, mind and spirit to surrender to a tranquil state of balance which allows for healing to take place.
One of the many roles of the hypothalamuses is to govern the Triple Warmer which is in charge of managing our “fight or flight” response and is also the site of emotions and the effect emotions can have on the body. It has direct influence on the amygdala.
What to expect during a session and how it works:
The Reiki Master/Reiki Practioner presses points around the spine to release toxins, pulls stagnant energy off the midsection to allow energy to flow between upper and lower body and connects points around the body, head and face to balance the energy centers of the body and brain. Clients become deeply relaxed as the energies that cause tension are calmed and those that create balance are stimulated. In closing of session, client is asked to lay quietly for a few minutes to come back to the planet! It is THAT relaxing.
The treatment lasts about 60 minutes and is performed with the client fully clothed on a massage table while soothing music plays in the background. This treatment uses lots of physical touch along the spine, waist, head, neck, face and feet unless client would like to focus on head area only during the session.
Clients are suggested to wear comfortable, loose clothing, little or no makeup and hairstyle unbound and loose as part of this treatment includes a head massage. Please refrain from wearing perfume or scent as this can have an effect on the energies.
According to their Energy & Reiki style, your practitioner may place their hands on your body (avoiding touching sexual areas) or work with their hands near, but not touching, the body. A practitioner always checks that you are comfortable with being touched if their style is predominantly hands-on, so if you are not, please say and they will switch to hands-off.
Your treatment is given fully clothed, except for your shoes (if lying on a couch). As in any complementary treatment, make sure you are comfortable by wearing loose-fitting clothes than you can relax in.
In order to help with your relaxation, Practitioners may have dim lighting and calming music. Some practitioners prefer to perform treatments in silence. If you have a preference, please state it.
Your Reiki Master/Reiki Practioner may follow a predetermined sequence of hand movements (which may vary according to style) or work without a predetermined sequence or, according to style, offer specific Energy and/or Reiki techniques to fit with your individual needs.
If you turn your attention to what you feel in your body, you may notice sensations of e.g. heat, or cold, or tingling or pulsing – all indications or Reiki at work. Some people feel no sensations, however this is not unusual. The experienced Reiki practitioner senses the flow of Reiki and can confirm that your body is actively receiving Reiki..
